This week I am inspired to talk about my Keto coffee.

Dr. Colbert’s newest book, “Dr Colbert’s Keto Zone Diet” mentions putting a good-for-you oil into a cup of coffee.
So I tried it, BUT…
I tried it my way. Since I stopped buying those $5.00 cups of coffee from the specialty coffee shops, I have been putting spices into my coffee. Here is my personal recipe for Keto coffee:
In the bottom of my favorite cup (before anything else goes in), I add a “shake” each of Cardamom, Apple Pie Spice and Ground Ginger. (Be original, choose spices you like!)
Next I brew a single cup of coffee into the cup. (If you don’t have a single cup brewer, just pour from your carafe.) Then I pour about a tablespoon’s worth of Avocado oil into my coffee cup and stir well.
New things usually sound “weird” or different to us when we first try them. So I get it if you made a funny face while you were reading this recipe for your Keto coffee.
But I must say this.
I have been drinking my coffee this way for 4 or 5 weeks now and some amazing things have happened.
First of all, I no longer get ravenously hungry 3 to 4 hours after I eat. In fact, my appetite is still under control 6 hours after eating breakfast. We eat a light lunch, but I have no headache, no raging appetite for food and my stomach is not growling.
Second, my lips stay soft and moist from the oil in my coffee. This may not sound like a big deal to some. However, if you have ever dealt with dry, cracked or chapped lips before, this is certainly good news for you!
Let’s talk about saving money.
Having my coffee Keto-style has saved me some money.
$5.00 per non-specialty coffee (I spent approximately $.67)
2.99 per carton of sugary creamer at the store. (my oil and spices are included in the $.67)
$1.99 on a tube of lip balm
The total of $9.98 minus the $.67 equals savings of $9.31.
Also, I lost belly fat. That’s right. No more low hanging, cover-your-belly shirts for me!
I can tuck my shirts into my pants and I look and feel good!
